the bad news is my last remaining grandparent, my mom's dad, is dying. it shouldn't be too surprising, he's in his late 80's and has alzheimers but i've always thought of him as invincible. he was diagnosed with lung cancer a few days ago and was given months, maybe weeks, to live. it's hard to believe i'll never see him again, but i'm trying to look on the bright side that i won't have to remember him like this either. i really wish i could be there for my mom. this is another reason i'm so glad i got this job. my mother is probably more ecstatic over it than i am (she's already e-mailed everyone she's ever known in her life) and it's nice to know that even if i can't be there, i can give her something positive to focus on right now.
anyways, no more sad stuff. i love and miss you all and promise to visit as soon as i can work it out. although, it might have to wait until after i go to EGYPT!

yea! i'm so happy for you! however, the completely selfish part of me is really sad that i won't get to see you in july. i saw a flight to shanghai for $350 one way in april and i was so tempted...
i'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. i'm sure it's making this whole exciting new job thing a little bittersweet.
i <3 you!!!!!!!!!
tricialicious!!!!!
so I gave up facebook for lent and i was super bored in class today trying desperately to think of something to do on the internet and i realized that i hadn't read your blog in like forever! Anyways, it was all quite entertaining and got me through class and i'm so happy for you about this job situation!!! its almost like you're a real person.
can't wait to see you again even though it looks like that may be decades from now...
love you!
