i think i spent more time trying to think of a title (and failing) than i will spend writing this post.

i finished my tefl training! i did my practice teaching lesson on monday. let me just say. teaching a junior high english class to native english speaking college graduates is fucking awkward. i felt like such a dumb shit. it didn't help that we had to act like students when we weren't teaching, so they weren't really answering my questions and a fight broke out. luckily it was only 10 minutes, and i wasn't the worst, so whatever. i still thought i did really terrible, but one of our coordinators told me i did well, so let's hope she wasn't just making up lies and i'm actually getting sent home haha.

anyways, that night i was basically done with everything because chinese ended on saturday and our tefl test wasn't til this morning and it was basically common sense so i didn't have to study for it. so a huge group of us went and did ktv (karaoke). i really can't understand why this hasn't caught on in the states. it was way fun. they do it in private rooms so we just all got wasted and sang mostly in groups instead of making asses of ourselves individually. i would also recommend jack and green tea. it's one of the easiest to drink mixed drinks on the planet. it was the first time i got legitly drunk since i've been here. complete with drunken mcdonald's and all. sadly i pretty much behaved myself and thus have no funny stories. definitely a step in the right direction though. i'm starting to figure out who my fellow enablers are who might be a regulator. luckily, so far there seem to be many more enablers than regulators. or at least people who don't regulate. i'm pretty sure everyone and their mom will be going out tonight, and i'm charging my camera so hopefully i'll remember to take some pictures and i can post those for you guys. also, if nothing interesting happens, i'm going to make up a story. i feel bad for those of you who have this on rss and then have to read this boring shit. so i promise my next post will be absolutely riveting, if not totally truthful...

Tricia. We have gone over how green tea and jack DOES NOT work in the US. It was really gross when you tried to make it. You'll have to perfect the recipe, and then, maybe, we could try it again. I miss you!

There is a regulator? ditch them! As I remember drunkenly yelling many times w/ Alyse's mom "DON'T REGULATE!". lol

anyway, I feel you on the boringness b/c I haven't been really legitly drunk here except kinda once but even then I had to behave myself. Oh well, girls night out this saturday so hopefully I'll have good stories for you too!

i would love to see how you handle an actual fight breaking out in the classroom. you may want to keep a few beer bottles under your desk for breaking/threatening purposes.

also, you know how i feel about regulators. drop them like an f-in pedi-cab driver (hahaha)

And guess what i am most definitely going to try tomorrow night?? jack and green tea. I'll let you know the results.

hahah, congrats on getting drunk. I'm wondering how long it will be until I get hammered in China. Also, China is fucking awesome. Come visit Shanghai as soon as you can
